Katsuya Beach, Hecho Libre en een privé-eiland onder een nieuwe vlag

Dit is het eerste hotel van HQ Hotels & Residences, het nieuwe merk van Sam Nazarian, met Marc Anthony als investeerder en Wyndham als alliantiepartner. Het gebouw zelf, met 79 suites, penthouses en villa's op acht acres aan de noordkust van Antigua, veranderde niet. De uitbater en de keuken wel.

Katsuya Uechi runt Katsuya Beach, Wes Avila doet Hecho Libre, en XIV Beach Club brengt het Los Angeles day club-format naar het strand. Een boot brengt gasten nog altijd naar de eigen beach club op Prickly Pear Island. Van luchthaven naar lobby is het zo'n vijf minuten.

Goed om te weten

• The beach club is on Prickly Pear Island, a short boat ride offshore, guests get the transfer, so build a day around it.
• Katsuya Beach and Hecho Libre both take outside bookings if you are staying elsewhere on the north coast.
