Australian-Japanese cooking on Harrington Street
The morning light through this minimalist room is the reason to sit down instead of grabbing a takeaway cup. Erda pairs specialty coffee with an Australian-Japanese menu on the western edge of the Hobart CBD.
It's a short walk uphill from Elizabeth Street. Get there early, this one shuts by mid-afternoon.

Visited in July 2026 after more than 12 months away, and I am glad to see Erda has kept its high quality. The menu stays the same, but it does not need to change when the food tastes and looks this good. The space feels bright with lovely natural light. We ordered the Omurice, the Galette, and finished with the Honey Butter Toast for dessert. Highly recommended!"

Beautiful, cozy, sunlit shop. The food was amazing and the coffee was good. Great place to chill and read by the window. Thanks team!

Visited twice during a short stay in Hobart because the food, coffee and service were incredible. The team remembered us which is super appreciated! The 'dirty' coffee and porridge were the highlights.
