What makes the cut

Novovibe exists to spot new, independent, worth-a-detour places, not to list every business in a city. Every place on the site is picked by hand against one simple test: would you tell a friend about it?

Food & drink

Yes: newly opened, chef-driven, independently owned restaurants, cafés and bars, places with their own name above the door and their own idea of what they're doing.

No: international chains and franchises, McDonald's, KFC, Starbucks, Subway and the like. If the exact same menu exists in twenty other cities, it's not a hotspot.

Hotels & stays

Yes: small boutique hotels, design-led guesthouses and independently run stays with a character of their own.

No: big international hotel brands, Ibis, Hilton, Marriott and similar chain properties. Reliable, sure. Just not what we're here for.

Shops & culture

Yes: independent boutiques, concept stores, galleries and small cultural spaces with a point of view.

No: chain retail and big-box stores you'd find in any mall, anywhere.

The general rule

New beats old, independent beats corporate, distinctive beats familiar. A place doesn't have to be brand new to qualify, but it does need its own personality, if it could be teleported to any city on earth and nothing would feel different, it's probably not for Novovibe.
