Pigface Bookstore
★ 4.9 · 40 reviews Perth Opened 12 September 2025
A tightly edited CBD bookshop from Perth's indie book veterans
Skip the sprawling chain stores. The team behind New Edition in Fremantle and Crow Books in Victoria Park picked every title here with an actual point of view, across literature, philosophy, art, design and music.
It's named after the pigface succulent that grows wild on WA's coastal dunes. The heritage building on Barrack Street sat empty before this, and now it hosts author events most evenings.
Good to know
- Open seven days, 9am to 7pm - unusually late for a Perth CBD retailer.
- The stock leans classics, literary fiction, art and design rather than bestsellers; ask staff, they know it.

Great bookstore with a great selection of titles! I also emailed them about the possibility of ordering in a book and they responded super quickly and placed the order for me without needing payment prior. Highly recommend!

Great selection. I was looking for Murakami and was very surprised by the wide range of his books offered at Pigface. The staff were also very friendly.

Beautiful bookstore open early on a Sunday. Great selection of contemporary and classical fiction, more electric range of fiction and independent authors.

Lovely selection of books. I love that I was able to see hard to find copies on niche topics I love. Went back another time before I left for my flight to pick up a few more books. Customer service was excellent as well. Will definitely come back the next year I visit! My brother who is a local loved the selection as well. Hope people will continue to support this shop~

Great new bookstore in the CBD. Fantastic collection of new fiction, classic fiction and philosophy. What's more is that they stock the small, portable paperbacks instead of the big chunky C format paperbacks or even worse, hardcovers.
