French cooking, a new menu every month, in Mont-sur-Marchienne

The menu turns over every month here, built around whatever's in season, and the technique underneath it stays classically French. It's the kind of place worth returning to just to see what changed.

1908 moved down the road from Monceau-sur-Sambre to Avenue Paul Pastur in January 2026, trading up to room for 36 covers. The bigger space still reads like a kitchen finding its footing, in a good way.

Good food for the price! While I appreciated the complimentary amuse-bouche, I didn’t like that the same thing was reused in a different menu item.

A wonderful discovery! Excellent quality, freshness, presentation, and taste—things you wouldn't find at home. Impeccable service and judicious wine pairings. What more can we say except that we will be back!

This was our first visit to your new location, an excellent choice; the setting is magnificent. As for the food, it's always a real pleasure to come to your restaurant and enjoy your cuisine. It's always a true delight.

The food is delicious and original. Excellent value for money. Lovely setting. Complimentary and very tasty amuse-bouches. Nice wine list. Drinks at reasonable prices. It's also worth noting that the chef comes to the tables, which is a very nice touch. Unfortunately for us, the service was very slow (we arrived at 1:10 pm and left at 3:50 pm for a three-course meal). The portions of the appetizers and desserts were really small. For the appetizer, three tiny beetroot ravioli... For the dessert, the equivalent of three strawberries and six stalks of rhubarb plus a few slivers of asparagus. But I want to emphasize: it was delicious. And for the main course: exquisite squab in a reasonable portion. So it's because of the wait and the small portions that I couldn't give it five stars. A shame. But don't hesitate to go. I went for Mother's Day and the restaurant was full. Perhaps that explains it.

A wonderful discovery with friends. A young and dynamic team, impeccable service, and carefully prepared dishes. A three-course menu was enough for us (the cheeses for dessert were excellent), but don't hesitate to order more courses if you have a big appetite.
