Hunters Pub & Grill sits at the back of Hunters Africa Mall on President Avenue. It's the kind of place you need a recommendation to find. The menu runs pub standards: burgers, ribs, a “Mexican” plate that's more suggestion than authenticity. Seating is either the covered outdoor section or the small dining room inside.

The crowd mixes safari guides off shift, mall shopkeepers, and tourists who wandered in expecting a curio stop and stayed for a beer.

The restaurant’s good was well-priced and delicious. We were served by Scotty who was efficient, friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back there. Enquire before ordering as to which dishes are not available to ensure you are not disappointed. Stocked with good South African wines.

Arrived for supper. Staff could not wait for us to go. The manager stepped in to apologize. The steak was very tough, but then they gave us butter knives to use. Seems a good place.

My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner here! I absolutely loved the impala kebabs! I would definitely recommend ordering those over the pizza. It wasn’t bad, but you are in Africa haha. Go with the kebabs! You won’t be disappointed! Our waitress was soooo kind! She offered us the WiFi password without us asking and bug spray. We definitely would come back and try some more of the local or game dishes. The price was average and the restaurant was really nice. Definitely recommend!

Finally - local food and it was delicious! Easy location for town. Friendly staff. The food is a sensible price. The food choice has both western and local. We had the Seswaa - essentially pulled beef with rice. Really tasty. There are porcelain toilets and an outdoor area overlooking part of the river. We had dinner here in the evening and lunch the following day. Good choice.
