A hostel-chain rooftop lands on Kampot's Riverside Road

Mad Monkey opens its first Kampot outpost on Riverside Road in June 2026, joining branches across Cambodia, Vietnam and beyond. Expect the chain's usual formula: sunset drinks and a room full of travelers meeting for the first time.

Kampot's backpacker scene has mostly meant small guesthouses and independent bars, not a hostel chain this size. The rooftop alone is built to hold a few hundred people, a different scale than anything else on the street.
