Thirty-six rooms in a 1914 bank with a vinyl bar
SonoLux fills the neoclassical 1914 National Trust Building in Old Montreal with 36 rooms built around sound and light. The look is spare: soft lighting, tactile materials, modular furniture that moves from desk to dinner table. Art is installed throughout rather than hung as decoration.
Downstairs, Subterra runs live music and vinyl nights on what the hotel calls Level S. Esquire and the MICHELIN Guide both added it to their best-of lists this year.
Good to know
- Subterra, the bar on Level S, runs live music and vinyl nights, go down, don't just drink in the lobby.
- The art cinema and audio lounge are part of the hotel, not extras; check what's programmed before you book a night.
