Pool cues and a game on, ground floor of the Broadview
Skip the rooftop line. Archie's took over the Broadview Hotel's ground floor in Riverside and swapped the formal dining room for pool tables and a game on the TVs. The kitchen does sharper versions of food you already know.
Upstairs gets the views and the crowds. This is where the locals actually sit.

Overall, the interior is cute. The food and cocktails were decent, and food came out surprisingly quickly. We ordered the Caesar salad, fish and chips, and the jalapeño burger. The salad lacked flavour, the fish and chips were just okay, and the burger was pretty good. Love that it comes with fries. Cons: - It took about 20 minutes just to get a Coke. - Service felt disorganized. We had multiple servers throughout our meal, so it was unclear who to ask for assistance. When another server brought the bill, they didn't know what was happening and had to find our original server. - We waited about 20 min for the first bill, then another 20 min after requesting that it be split. - Not very stroller or baby-friendly. We arrived early enough to get a table where our stroller could stay beside us, but otherwise we were told it would need to be left at the front. The washrooms also weren't ideal. They consisted of only two very small toilet and sink stalls, making them difficult to use with a baby.

We stopped by Archie’s at the Broadview Hotel and had such a great experience. The service was fantastic from start to finish—our food came out quickly, and everyone on the team was so friendly and attentive. They checked in on us throughout our meal and were happy to answer questions and help us decide when we couldn’t choose between menu items. To drink, we ordered the Sun Smoke mocktail and a Peroni. The mocktail was fresh, fruity, and honestly the perfect summer drink. We started with the spinach dip, and it exceeded my expectations. I was pleasantly surprised that the spinach was puréed into the dip instead of being left chunky like most spinach dips. It was incredibly creamy, topped with melted cheese and crispy breadcrumbs, and paired with house-made tortilla chips that were absolutely amazing. The chips were perfectly seasoned and some of the best I’ve had. My only suggestion would be to include a few more chips because there’s plenty of dip left by the end! For our mains, we had the jalapeño burger (with added bacon) and the fried chicken sandwich. The burger was outstanding—the smash patty was crispy around the edges, juicy, and packed with flavour. The fried chicken sandwich was also really good, especially the slaw, which added a nice freshness. If I could change one thing, I’d love to see the chicken tossed in the sauce before it’s served, as I found it could be a little dry at times between the crispy breading and the bun. The real star of the meal, though, was the fries. They were absolutely incredible—crispy on the outside, soft and pillowy on the inside, perfectly seasoned, and easily my favourite part of the entire meal. They tasted like they were double-fried and were seriously addictive. We were hoping to try the cookie for dessert, but we were completely stuffed by the end of our meal! The restaurant itself has such a cool vibe, with fun artwork and décor that makes the space feel unique and welcoming. Overall, Archie’s is a fantastic addition to the neighbourhood, and I’d definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area. We’ll definitely be back!

We visited Archie’s and had a great experience from start to finish. The waitstaff were incredibly attentive and friendly. To start, the Corn Ribs were delicious and the Reuben croquettes were really good. For mains, we ordered the Archie’s Smash Burger and the Fried Chicken Burger. The smash burger was excellent, with a delicious flavour from the Archie’s sauce and perfectly juicy meat. I would return just for this! While the fries were nicely seasoned, the portion seemed a bit small, making the plate look a little empty, but that’s just a minor critique. The Fried Chicken Burger had a great crunch, was perfectly juicy, and was easily just as enjoyable as the smash burger. For dessert, the Warm Dark Chocolate Pecan Cookie was a total standout and a great sharing option for groups, while the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake was decent. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely be coming back.

Yay! Fun vibey new spot in the area! Love this 50s diner meets cigar lounge style. Service was great, food was great, drinks were deeeelicious. Despite there being multiple tv screens (sportsball) and a pool table, it wasn’t so lound that i couldn’t talk to my friends across the table. The lighting was warm, and the seats were very comfortable. Very excited to come back and try out the photo booth! For visitors to the city, don’t forget to read the historical plaque on the hotel outside ;)

We had the wedge salad and Brussel sprouts as app and they were amazing. The mains were also incredible. They cook the patties with onions that caramelize in the patty which tastes incredible. Not a lot of smash burger spots like this in Toronto. 10/10 would def go again.
