Rob Rossi and David Minicucci's Italian steakhouse on Front Street
Bistecca cooked over coals, a wine list that goes deep on Tuscany instead of Napa. That's the pitch at Bisteccheria Sammarco, chef Rob Rossi and David Minicucci's steakhouse on Front Street East.
The design pulls as much attention as the food, which usually isn't a compliment. Here it is. Toronto Life ranked it ninth for the year.

Sammarco is a beautiful restaurant with a refined atmosphere, and the food was excellent from start to finish. The filet was cooked perfectly, the seafood dishes were outstanding, and dessert was fresh, creative, and a great finish to the meal. Everything tasted high quality and was beautifully presented. The only downside is the price. It’s definitely one of the more expensive steakhouses in Toronto, so be prepared for that. My other complaint is the side selection. Every classic steakhouse should offer a traditional baked potato, and I was surprised it wasn’t on the menu. Sometimes the classics don’t need reinventing. Overall, an excellent dining experience with fantastic food and a great atmosphere. I’d definitely come back, but I’d love to see a few more traditional steakhouse sides added to the menu.

This is a world class Michelin star dining experience. Every last detail is exceptionally architected to say "magnificent!" The decor is unmatched, you could spend the entire meal admiring the artwork, the design elements, the symmetry and the balance of color, space and materials. Simply wow! And the food does not take second place to the setting! Every mouthful was divine. Every bite, every course, every dish.... Exquisite! A combination of creativity, culinary excellence, presentation, visual appeal ... And all-encompassing delicious. It goes without saying, but not unnoticed, the service, teamwork, and delivery were such a pleasure to experience. Well done Sammarco!

After one visit to SAMMARCO I have now found my new favourite restaurant in Toronto. The duck and radicchio salad was outstanding. Very well balanced. The squid was also very good- extremely tender and well seasoned. For drinks, I loved the negroni blanco. The service was also great. We were well taken care of throughout the whole meal. 10/10. Will come again to try the rest of the menu

Had the pleasure of visiting Sammarco for a friend’s birthday. Here for the second time, and I can say without a doubt this is one of the best Italian restaurants in the city right now. Started of the evening with a few starters, Raddichio salad — amazing, fresh, sweet, bitter, tangy with subtle hints of garlic. Very good salad. The Tuna Crudo w/ fois gras, exceptional. Mixed Seafood Calamari — some of the best I’ve had in the city! Moving into the mains we decided to keep it light and grabbed two of the mixed meat dishes to share. The short ribs, lamb, pork shoulder and wagyu sausages all cooked to perfection and tasty. All the sides ordered were great too — zucchini & broccolini were 🔥 Ended off with a few desserts — the pistachio ice cream being everyone’s favourite. All in all, a very very nice experience and honestly a dinner to remember. The food, the ambiance, the staff & attention to detail all around — unmatched. 5/5

Exceptional service, atmosphere, and food. The Fettuccine Alla Scrofa is rich and decadent. Definitely pair with a salad. The bread and butter are delicious. The Crema Di Cocco is to die for - the best coconut cream pie I have ever had. Highly recommend!
