Buddy Bar calls itself Casa da Música (House of Music) and lives up to it with live sets every night from 6pm to 4am. Funaná, reggae, whatever the rotating acts bring. It's on Rua 1 de Junho, the default answer when someone asks where everyone's headed tonight.

No cocktail list to obsess over here. It's a room built around the stage, loud and unpretentious. Anchors the strip instead of chasing trends.
