Bar La Virgen

Osorno's bar lands in Puerto Varas at lunchtime

Most bars in Puerto Varas wait for dark. Bar La Virgen doesn't. Its new room on Estación opens from lunchtime and stays open through the afternoon lull.

Monday to Saturday it runs 12:30 to 11pm, Sundays until 5. Outside summer, when the town empties by nine, those daytime hours are the whole point.

Excellent place, delicious food, great drinks, and very good service. It's an open-air space, and while the weather is cold in this city, they have heaters and warm wool blankets. I love it! 😊😊😊🫪🫪🫪🫪🫪

Both times I've been, the service has been excellent. The food arrives quickly, the drinks are delicious, the staff is incredibly attentive, the place is beautiful, the music is lively, and they even have a hot dog menu.

We arrived on a Sunday at 8:00 PM. The place has a unique style, with its own vibe that makes it interesting. We ordered the La Virgen platter, which, honestly, seemed a bit small for the price. The ceviche was exquisite, though. The ramazotti I ordered was somewhat unbalanced, stronger than expected for a relatively simple drink. The service was very friendly, and the wait was no more than 20 minutes. The place gradually filled up throughout the evening. One important point: it's quite cold inside. I recommend dressing warmly. I think with better heating, people would stay longer and order more; we left precisely because of the cold. We paid around $56,000 for: the La Virgen platter, ceviche, mineral water, a non-alcoholic mojito, and ramazotti.
