An artist's eye on ceramics and design, tucked inside a Nicosia hotel

Skip the hotel-gift-shop instinct. Amyth Store is a small room inside the Amyth of Nicosia hotel near the Archbishopric, stocked with ceramics, jewellery, design objects and small artworks chosen by Savvas Christodoulides, a Cypriot artist and art theorist trained in France.

The selection has a point of view because one person with their own practice picked it, not a buying department. Walk in, look around, then head to the courtyard bar, which is how most people stumble on the place anyway.

Good to know

• It is inside the Amyth of Nicosia hotel, so hotel opening hours apply.
• Stock is small and rotates; most of it is by Cypriot makers.
