Yacht-side cocktails at Puerto Bahía marina

Compass Rose Lounge sits inside The Bannister Hotel & Yacht Club at Puerto Bahía, the marina about five minutes outside downtown Samaná. It's built for the boat crowd more than the malecón crowd: cocktails served yacht-side, with Café del Mar and Ocean Club as neighbors along the same dock.

It's quieter and pricier than anything downtown, which is the point. Go for sunset if you can, when the marina's slips are full.
