"Start coffee and you", says the shopfront. Fair enough.

The slogan painted across the shopfront reads "Grand Cafe, start coffee and you". That is the whole pitch: coffee first, everything else second.

It shows up in enough travel videos from the obelisk circuit to count as an informal stop on the walk through central Axum. Most people slot it in somewhere between the stelae field and Ezana Park.
