Coffee at dawn, cocktails at dusk, boats all day

Grab the terrace at Rivage and you're staring straight across the bassin des Chalutiers, fishing boats and all, in Le Gabut. This old quarter has turned into one of La Rochelle's busiest bar strips, and Rivage works the whole day out of it.

Coffee starts at 8:30am, then it rolls into tapas and cocktails as the light changes. Sunset is when the terrace fills up fast, so don't show up late and expect a seat.
