Paramythia means fairy tale, and it draws its crowd from the neighbourhoods behind the seafront apartment blocks rather than the tourist waterfront a kilometer west. No theme-taverna décor, no gimmicks.
Just straight traditional Greek cooking on the eastern stretch of Megalou Alexandrou, cooked for locals who live on this avenue, not for passers-by.

In a word … exceptional! Best meal we’ve had in Thessaloniki. Elegant atmosphere with beautiful Greek music serenading us in the background. Food was delicious!!

We came as a small group of three around 21:00h in Saturday without reservation because it was rainy. The host made everything possible so we can be seated. Our waitress was super professional making sure everything is okay. The food was perfectly cooked. The toilet has the flush button on the ground so you can push it with your foot which I find very convenient.

Honestly this might be one of the few restaurants in the city that combine good vibes & cozy interior, traditional Greek delicious dishes, ad well as good & fast service. And on top of that it's right by the seafront. Whether meat, fish or just meze dishes, all their dishes we have tried were top notch in taste as well as presented in nice boho plates. Excellent value for money in a non-pretentious space.

This was our first time at Paramythia Restaurant and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed by the staff. The food was absolutely delicious, prepared with great care and full of flavor. The service was attentive, friendly, and genuinely hospitable, which made the whole evening even more enjoyable. As a lovely bonus, there was live music that created a beautiful atmosphere and made the night feel even more special. Everything from the quality of the dishes to the warm service and the charming ambiance was simply excellent. We truly enjoyed our time here and will definitely be happy to visit again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.
