Mumbai's beloved Juhu bookshop lands in Ahmedabad

Granth's first store outside Mumbai sits on the lobby level of Sankalp Square-III on Sindhu Bhavan Road, below Taj Skyline. The original has been trading on Juhu Tara Road since 1999, run by the family behind Shree Book Centre and still one of the last serious independents in the western suburbs.

The stock reads like a bookseller's shelf, not an algorithm's: literary fiction, Indian writing, history, philosophy and religion, plus a children's corner with room to sit and read before buying. Sonali Bendre showed up in the first week.

Good to know

• It is on the lobby level of Sankalp Square-III, under Taj Skyline, walk in through the office tower, not the hotel.
• Ask the staff for recommendations; the fiction and philosophy sections are hand-picked rather than bestseller-led.
