Haset: appetizing photo of restaurant food

Ethiopian plates steps from the shuk

Ethiopian food is rare in Jerusalem, and kosher-certified Ethiopian food is rarer still. Haset pulls off both, a few steps from the skewer joints of Mahane Yehuda on HaDekel Street.

Skip the shuk snacks and order the injera platters instead, torn by hand and piled with stews. It widens what a dinner at the market can look like.

Love this casual female owned Ethiopian Kosher Jerusalem restaurant. Avrash, the owner & chef cooks everything fresh daily & takes pride in what she serves. The menu is GF & if you like Ethiopian food, this is delicious.

Best Ethiopian food I’ve ever had

We had the delicious Doro Wat (chicken leg and boiled egg cooked in red onion stew). It was mildly spicy (perfect for me). Price reasonable, atmosphere very friendly and relaxed, food came within 15 minutes of ordering. The bill came to 180 shekels for two, including beer (served in disposable plastic cups unfortunately), tip and two extra Injera bread to take home. I'm definitely going back!
