Tasting menus with lake views, on the top floor of a 1926 palazzo

The room alone is worth the climb: a panoramic top-floor space facing Lake Como, inside the restored Palazzo San Gottardo. Chef Danilo Vella, a former S.Pellegrino Young Chef winner, runs Lombard produce through a contemporary tasting menu.

It's dinner only, seven nights a week from 6:30pm, built around the tasting progression rather than a quick drink. Downstairs, Caffè Lariano runs its own kitchen under chef Mirko Gatti, same address, different menu entirely.

I had dinner with my husband and the evening was truly delightful. We chose the Origini tasting menu, a true journey through the flavors of Sicily. Compliments to the chef: a top-notch culinary offering, carefully crafted and thoughtfully crafted down to the last detail, from the bread to the pasta to the desserts. Andrei and Davide were also excellent, masterfully presenting the dishes and wine, making the experience even more complete. A dinner worth repeating. Highly recommended, especially for those who want to enjoy the view and a private, intimate atmosphere.

From the moment you arrive, you feel welcome and exceptionally well cared for. The cuisine also sets a high standard: exclusively regional products are used, prepared creatively and with great flavor. The result is dishes full of character and freshness.
