Western Jamaica's patty and pastry stop

Hammond's runs on Main Street in the middle of Negril proper, away from the beach strip, baking patties, sandwiches, cakes and Jamaican-style pastries fresh through the day. It has a sister shop in Lucea, but locals point to the Negril one for a real patty away from the resorts.

A 2025 collaboration brought The Patty Shop by BAUGHaus into the mix alongside Hammond's own line, adding to an already full menu.

Good to know

Patties sell fastest around lunch, go early if you want a specific filling.
Also does custom cakes for events, worth asking if you're staying a while.

Excellent patties sold by staff who are surly and indifferent at best, downright hostile at times. Grab and go only (or more accurately wait, order, pay, wait, collect and go).

Hammond’s Bakery was a fantastic stop for some authentic Jamaican food. The hardo bread was fresh and delicious and the patties were packed with flavour and exactly what I was hoping for. Simple, satisfying food done really well and a place I’m glad I visited.

Stumbled upon Negril's top-rated patty shop after reading Google reviews, and it didn't disappoint. The patty with coco bread was the best I’ve had. Portions were big and I notice it’s a favourite amongst locals. Highly recommend to stop by if you’re in Negril.

Wow. I had a local bring me patties fresh from the bakery. Now I'm hooked. I even stay at a place right around the corner so I can walk (insane I know) to buy my patties and pastries. I've never had something I didn't enjoy. Cash only. Bring Jamaican if you can to save a bit on your purchase. Don't forget to tip!
