Cafe CABaN

Dim sum and Taiwanese sweets inside a clothing shop
Racks of clothes on one side, steamer baskets on the other. CABaN is a clothing label first, and this café shares the same Daimyō room, selling dim sum and Taiwanese desserts among the hangers. It sounds odd until you're standing in it.
Douhua and small steamed plates carry the menu. Come for a break in the middle of a shopping afternoon, not for a full meal.

We visited because pets are allowed on the terrace. We ordered the special shumai set, and it included a rare lemongrass shumai, which was absolutely delicious. The staff were all very polite and attentive, making for a very comfortable experience. We will definitely visit again.

We made a reservation for just a table on the last Tuesday of March at 6 PM and went as a pair. A friend of my friend was working there, and they were happy to see each other again after so long! We were told we could take home any leftovers. We ordered the March-only dish and, since it was a little chilly, we had the Dan Dan Noodles. Cilantro could be substituted with green onions! We shared everything and were very satisfied! The lemongrass shumai in the three-dumpling platter left our mouths overwhelmed with lemongrass flavor, and I think it could be improved. (We both don't really like lemongrass, so we asked for extra condiments.) The chai daifuku was a bit crumbly, but it had a gentle flavor♪ My friend and I talked about wanting to try everything on the menu, so we'll definitely go again next time! The shop is a retail store, but there were tables and counter seats to choose from. On weekdays at 6 PM, there were only about 2-3 groups of customers. The quiet atmosphere allowed us to have a relaxed conversation.

Good place to have a coffee, ice cream or dessert after strolling around the Daimyo area. They also have dimsum sets/noodle sets and some seasonal sets. They looked great but we only availed the sweets. The staff are attentive and helpful. Located inside the beautifully curated Caban store.

I had the 1st anniversary lunch set. Furthermore, I took home a variety of sweets, and everything was delicious. The take-home packaging was also elaborate! It made carrying it around a joy. Of the shumai in the lunch set, the shiso and shrimp shumai was my favorite ❤️. They wrapped it after I ordered, and it arrived piping hot! The noodles were firm and had a unique texture where you could see the grains. The zongzi (sticky rice dumpling) was fragrant and I devoured it in no time 😋 We also enjoyed two kinds of soft serve ice cream (my friend and I chose different ones). You could feel the careful selection of ingredients everywhere, and I wondered if it was okay to offer it at this location and price? It's a limited-time offer!

The ice cream was rich and delicious. I accidentally dropped my chopsticks on the floor, and the staff quickly picked them up for me. Thank you so much! 🫶🏻 My friend said the staff member was a rare handsome Japanese guy. 🌹 They even gave my friend a cute sticker when we left. So adorable! ☺️ This was a truly high-quality experience. 🌹
