Phi Cream & Croissant

Tokyo's cream-croissant specialist finally leaves the capital

Watch the croissants get filled to order at the open workshop counter, where two French-trained pastry chefs run product development for Tokyo's cult cream-croissant chain. This 80-seat Sakae shop, inside Maruei Galleria, is its first location outside the capital.

Three menus, COCO, DECO and TROIS, cover different flavor combinations from 380 to 950 yen. The reddish clay walls nod to nearby Tokoname, and the house pour, a "ballad coffee roasters" blend, is a tribute to Nagoya's kissaten culture.

Cafe latte is too good and the staffs are friendly 😍

I ordered black tea and a croissant. Although it's called a croissant, the crust is more like a donut, unlike the soft and crumbly texture of a typical croissant. I ordered the caramel chocolate flavor. The filling was okay, but the bread itself wasn't to my liking. There were plenty of seats, but they were all hard and uncomfortable to sit in. The staff spoke fluent English and were very friendly. There were quite a few customers. If you're passing by, you can buy one to try—it's not bad, and might just suit your taste.

Cream was delicious, however the pastry was a bit dry. The overall store interior and atmosphere is nice.

The taste was so good. Additionally the person at the cash register was very kind, warm and sweet to me.

I stopped in for coffee and dessert after lunch. It seems the previous sweets shop has been replaced by this new shop. Coffee and blueberry croissant with cream. Coffee is made to order, so you tell them your name and sit down to wait. It takes about 5 minutes to get a warm cup of coffee. The coffee is lightly roasted and they have a wide selection that is easy to drink. The croissant with cream on top has a fairly firm crust and doesn't crumble when you bite into it. The vanilla cream is just the right amount of sweet. The space is spacious and relaxing, making it very comfortable. Thank you for the meal.
