An evening bar breaking up Kinugawa's onsen-hotel routine

Skip another night of hotel dining. Vortex Cafe & Bar opens on Karakura, on the site of a former Chinese restaurant along the Kinugawa bypass, built as an after-dark spot rather than a daytime cafe, running 4pm to 11:30pm.

It's a short drive from the Kinugawa Onsen hotel strip, not a walk, so treat it as a proper destination stop rather than a passing detour. The name is a nod to its own late hours in an area built around hot spring hotels.
