Where Takayama goes after the old town shuts

Once Kamisannomachi's cafes and craft shops pull their shutters down, this stretch of Suehiromachi near the station is where the night actually continues. Bar Azalea sits right in the middle of it, a straightforward counter bar for the crowd still looking for a drink.

Cocktails and a short food menu keep it simple. No theme, no gimmick, just a low-key spot on the side of town that's still open.

What an amazing bar. If you find yourself in Takayama definitely visit. Toro the bar owner makes an awesome cocktail.

Had a wonderful experience here. The owner/bartender was extremely friendly and was easy to have a conversation with. Drinks were also 10/10

As others have said, this is a great spot with fantastic drinks, and the owner is extremely nice and welcoming. I highly recommend you ask him to make you a the cocktail he invented, you won't regret it!
