Wine and Spine opened in 2025 on the first floor of Nanyuki Mall, putting a wine and spirits shop next to a small bookshop. The Star covered it that July as part of a piece on Nanyuki growing into a town with room for wine tasting and book reading.

The shop runs regular book club meetings and wine tasting evenings, treating the two as a natural pair rather than a gimmick. On a stretch of town filled mostly with safari outfitters and grocery stalls, it's the one shop built around reading and wine.
