Bite Me does one nostalgic thing seriously: the grilled cheese toastie, crisp bread and molten cheese, in versions from the plain classic to kimchi and jalapeño. Vegan alternatives aren't an afterthought either.

It's a hand-food counter, not a restaurant, and works best exactly that way. Cheap, fast, absurdly comforting on a wet Riga day. The kimchi version is the one to argue about.

We went there with a group of friends shortly after they opened. At some moments, the queues were quite long, but still manageable. The food was tasty. I’d say it’s comfort food rather than your regular everyday meal. So, if you’re craving some gluten and fat to wash down with a glass of wine, this is definitely a place for you. :) Speaking of the atmosphere, it was super chill. You can go there in an evening dress or in a hoodie, and both feel perfectly fine. And a special thanks to Zane, who made us feel so welcome that we now have no choice but to come back!

I got the onion marmalade grilled cheese. It was delicious. At first I wasn’t sure about the cashews on there but they were a fun added touch. I do wish they had a few more basic options for those days where you just want a simple comfort food grilled cheese. Over all the place has a good vibe.

If Bite Me was located in New York City, it would have a long waiting line to get in! The most amazing food made out of local ingredients by a chef who is at the top of his game. The best grilled sandwiches we ever ate not only in Latvia but also globally. The burger sandwich is out of this world! The French toast and the Honey comb cake are absolutely amazing! The rhubarb kvass is a true find! Excellent and very personal service in a very beautiful setting by the river!
