Basque grill and Mediterranean plates in an Old Town courtyard

Skip the heavy Lithuanian fare on Rotušės square and duck into the courtyard behind it. Bronza cooks over an open Basque grill, leaning into olive oil, citrus and charred vegetables instead.

The room inside fills fast, but the terrace is the real reason to come. Red rooftops overhead, worn brick underfoot, and enough space to linger over a slow dinner rather than rush between sights.

Good to know

Book the courtyard table if the weather allows, it's the reason regulars come back.

We arrived without a reservation, but were warmly welcomed. The service was top-notch, the wait staff was pleasant. The appetizers and first courses left the biggest impression. We will definitely be back!

Really nice restaurant in the heart of Kaunas old town. Very welcoming staff and exceptional service too, But most importantly the Food is AMAZING! , I’d definetly recommend to go for the Ribeye (USA). Great atmosphere and lovely design too, will be back again for sure!

The first time wasn't good. Well, maybe it wasn't the food that spoiled the impression the most, but the wait. New place, everything is beautiful, of course expensive. Service is pleasant, everything is ok. But, we had to wait for the food for a very, very long time. And I understand if we had waited a long time for the main courses, but even the "complimentary" bread with butter arrived with the first appetizers in about 1 hour. So if the bread had arrived in 15 minutes, the appetizers in 30-45 minutes and then the main courses, the rating would definitely be better. And you need to understand that we reserved a table, i.e. the number of customers is regulated in this way. About the food: the sea bass ceviche was really very tasty and fresh, the fried seafood was tasty, but nothing impressive. We ordered a couple of beef dishes, which was surprising that there was no question about how to cook it. The meat was tasty, but definitely not ideal. The fries with the slaw were very overcooked, dry. I liked the mashed potatoes, the mushrooms were okay, but I would say the fresh salad was prepared very carelessly. Another thing that stuck out: smoking. Everyone from the hall goes to the terrace to smoke and it really looks ugly when the company that left stops to smoke, while others eat nearby. The place for smoking should be chosen better.
