Screwpine ice cream, an Addu original
Screwpine, keyvah in Dhivehi, is a spiky tropical fruit that grows across the southern atolls. Maldivian cooks have used it for generations, though most visitors never encounter it. Theyravaa Inn in Feydhoo turned it into ice cream: sweet, slightly resinous, an old ingredient in a new format.
Food travel host Mark Wiens stopped by while filming in the Maldives. Locals across generations still call it the benchmark screwpine ice cream in Addu City. There's no real menu beyond the one flavor that matters. Ask for kashikeyvah and that's what you get.
Good to know
- Order the screwpine, or kashikeyvah, flavor. It's the one thing this place is known for.
- Go early. It's a small, popular spot with limited seating.

I love this shop! They have a fantastic variety of drinks, from classic favorites to unique creations. The quality is consistently excellent, and the prices are reasonable. Specially the home made Kashikeyo (screwpine) ice cream. It's my go-to spot in S.Feydhoo whenever I need a delicious and refreshing drink. Highly recommend checking them out! 😊
