La Madriguera Café

The café that borrowed its name and rabbit from Wonderland

La Madriguera Café opened on Mariano Arista in Centro in 2025, its name and its rabbit mascot both borrowed straight from Alice in Wonderland. The look leans into the theme without overdoing it, a few white-rabbit touches rather than a full costume-shop interior.

Underneath the theme, the kitchen runs a straightforward café and pastry menu, coffee and baked goods that would work in any downtown Centro storefront. Weekend mornings draw families with kids old enough to know the story the café is named after.

Most importantly the coffee was fantastic. I got a vanilla latte and it was delicious. Secondly, the atmosphere was very unique with Alice in Wonderland decor all over. Will definitely return if I am ever back in Monterrey!

The decor perfectly matches the theme, the customer service is excellent, and the food is great too (the red berry cinnamon roll is my favorite). I highly recommend this café, as I've been there more than once. My only suggestion would be to offer a vegetarian/vegan menu, especially for the savory options.

We loved the matcha with vanilla cold foam and the Americano. The dessert was also delicious, and the service from the staff was excellent.

I came on a Sunday at lunchtime and there was no problem finding a table, even though it's a small place. The quality-price ratio is excellent, as the food is not only delicious but also fresh and high-quality, and the price is, frankly, low for me. I ordered two cappuccinos, one with a syrup that costs extra, and a pizza croissant, and the total came to 240 pesos. My only complaint is that the drinks were a bit strong, but if you're used to coffee, it's not bad at all. The atmosphere is lovely, with various plush toys, drawings, and board games. The service is also excellent, and I would definitely come back again.
