Mexican design objects, upstairs at Casa de Barro

Negro sells Mexican design objects, not souvenirs: homeware, vases, bags, leather goods, accessories, clothing. The room plays it dark and hard edged, a deliberate contrast to the pastel colonial buildings around it.

It sits up a flight of stairs inside Casa de Barro, easy to miss if you are only looking at street level. The shop also hosts launches and evening events for other Mexican labels.

Good to know

• It is on the second floor of Casa de Barro at Reforma 703 - go up, do not look for a street frontage.
• Sundays are shorter: 11am to 5pm, against 11am to 7pm the rest of the week.

  Amazing men’s and women's clothes. I never buy clothes and felt that the stylistic expression of all the pieces spoke with powerful authentic creativity. In fact, I had to leave a few behind (but wish I hadn’t)! Also incredibly delightful and helpful staff 🫶🏼
