Casa Arca's new rooftop on Relox, open since June 2025
Altar opened in June 2025 on the roof of Casa Arca, a Michelin Key hotel on Calle del Relox, and quickly picked up the local attention Doce 18's other rooftops had held for years. Cathedral views come standard from most tables, looking straight across at the Parroquia's towers.
The menu runs shareable plates rather than entrees, grilled Ranchero cheese and bluefin tuna tiradito among the early standouts, alongside a short list of modern cocktails. Being one of the newest rooftops in town, it still takes walk-ins most weeknights, though that's expected to change as word spreads.

We had a wonderful dinner at Altar last night! This spot has beautiful views and great food! We shared the heart of palm salad, short rib, and roasted vegetables. Everything was delicious, and the serving sizes are generous. Last night they had a great jazz trio playing - the perfect last night in San Miguel!

Incredible food, top tier service, and easily the most beautiful rooftop garden in all of San Miguel.

I think this might be the newest restaurant in all of San Miguel. It has the largest rooftop and it's the only one facing the front of the church which is very unique! We went one of the first days they were open. Food was off the charts!!! The only thing missing was me having a bigger stomach because we ordered about a third of the menu! Every single item was perfectly served. The chef also owns two other restaurants in town that are five stars. This is definitely the flagship for sure. The lighting at night, ambiance, music and views of the church were perfect. Skip all the touristy places put this one on the top of your list. I've been living here for 3 years and the variety and the menu is so big I could see myself eating here 3 days a week. The prices were medium level so the value for the peso was much better than a lot of the other restaurants in Centro. Look for the gringo with the pork tomahawk and a margarita sitting in the corner and that's probably me!!

The food and drinks at this restaurant were very good, and the atmosphere and view were truly spectacular—definitely a memorable setting. However, I unfortunately became ill after my meal and suspect that the chicken I ordered may have caused it. I hope this is just an isolated incident, as everything else about the experience was excellent.

Entrance is through the lobby. Everyone we interacted with was SUPER nice and attentive. Their food is banging. Flavorful and generous portions. We had the gaonera tacos and the jitomate salad. The sopes were great too. Their red sauce was sweet with barely any spicy to it. They have a good habanero sauce I tried if you’re into spicy. To drink we had the non-alcoholic Gaia’s which were refreshing and delicious. View is nice and they have some lounge areas too if you prefer to come up to sit and have drinks. Also, they’re pet friendly.
