Peanut butter lattes and Snickers coffee are the reason this square gets loud on Instagram before anyone tries the regular menu. The drink names shift with whatever trend is circulating that month, so check what's new before you order the usual.

Hausbrandt coffee from Trieste runs the espresso side, a detail the owners bring up often. By evening the Trg Slobode spot feels more like a bar than a coffee stop, staying open until midnight. There's also a summer outpost on the Koprska promenade.

If you came to town early in the morning this is the only cafe that's open before 8 AM. It says it opens at 7 AM. I was there at 7:30-ish and after the very first step I knew I hit a jackpot. Both the waiter and the bartender were spreading some great energy. It's extremely rare to see people be that happy at their workplace early in the morning. Prices are just like in any other bar. Espresso is excellent! Stuff is on another level. It was frustrating to walk through the city and see that every bar/coffe shop is closed. Finding out this place changed my mind about that. City government should make a law that forbids everyone to open before 8 AM with exception for this place that should have the freedom to open whenever they want :))) If I could I'd give them 5½ stars!!
