Directions

Caipirinhas at sunset, above Stone Town's old rooftops

Flor de Rosa is a small rooftop bar in the center of Stone Town, run by an islander named Roberto. It looks out over Avenida dos Heróis and the weathered rooftops around it. Locals just call it "Bar Flor." Ask anyone where to watch the sunset with a caipirinha, and this is the answer.

Grilled seafood and snacks, not a full menu. The right call for a small terrace. The view runs the show, and the kitchen doesn't try to compete with it.

Good to know

  • Go for sunset, it's what the bar is known for.
  • Locally called just "Bar Flor."

Lovely rooftop in the middle of the island, with great decoration and atmosphere. The food was very good and so was the attention.
