Live-fire Portuguese buffet meets Brazilian rodizio

Flag the server when you've had enough. That's how it works at Alta, one of the few restaurants in Windhoek built around rodizio pacing rather than a menu, grilled meats carved tableside alongside a live-fire buffet inspired by northern Spain and Portugal.

Get to the Sunset Deck between 5:30 and 7pm, when the light hits Kleine Kuppe hillside and the tables fill fast. Sushi turns up too, an odd but well-regarded add-on to the Portuguese core.

The food took a bit long but it was worth the wait. I had the best sushi in town there- waiter’s recommendation. Their food is very delicious and will definitely return.

I loved the excellent customer service from the staff. The food was absolutely delicious, I highly recommend the mussels. The place is beautiful, and I really enjoyed the fresh air and the music.
