Coffee inside a garden pavilion
Walk up through the Dunedin Botanic Garden instead of parking at the door. The umbrella-shaped pavilion sat empty for about a year before Aster moved in, and the glass walls now frame nothing but planting.
The coffee and cabinet food are solid, but the room is the draw. Open 8am to 4pm daily, which works far better for garden foot traffic than whatever ran here before.

The place looks awesome and lovely staff, but my hot chocolate was not the best! Tasted like warm milk and sadly no marshmallows ethier :(

Lovely café in the middle of the garden tho. Place looks clean, nice decor and quiet with the view of the garden of course. Didn't try their menu yet, only bought scone and a coffee which was good.

Amazing food and menu. The staff are friendly too. This is a great place to go for breakfast with friends and sit on the beautifully made wooden tables. I used to work at this site and imagine it polished up so its a dream come true. I am guessing the outdoor tables are coming soon and maybe even extended hours in summer yay!

I had the French omelette filled with leek puree. It was sublime. I savoured every mouthful. Excellent coffee as well. Wish there was outdoor seating.....maybe in spring?

I met the love of my life yesterday in Aster. Her name you ask? Jalapeno & Cheese Scone. We're set to get married in the summer, might get married at Aster. Seriously though, what an amazing space. The staff bring an awesome energy and the owners have cultivated an awesome vibe in a long forgotten space, great work team thank you for what you've done for the industry.
