Nelson's new Italian bar on Trafalgar Street
Food comes alongside the drinks here, not as some separate menu you have to think about. That makes Bar Rosa an easy stop rather than a whole plan.
Daniel Monopoli, who used to run the Boat Shed Cafe, opened it in 2025 on the same central site. It sits right in the middle of the Trafalgar Street blocks, so it's easy to fold into whatever else you're doing that night.

Tuesday 30, June visited this bar for the first time. Tried different meals made professionallly of the very good quality ingredients, that's for sure. We found however some lack of taste in it. Meals presentation meets the fine dining expectations. Cocktails were okay. But I'd rather order something from the wine list next time. Atmosphere was very nice with its interior design, lighting and the choice of music. Unfortunately felt some sort of an attitude from 2 waitresses, sometimes had to wait for too long for been taken an order, meanwhile saw them laughing and chatting with the cooks team. I recommended this place to my colleagues at work but had to mention the above as well.

Great atmosphere here on a Friday night. Food was excellent, apart from the rocket salad (salty and soggy). It is a bit meat focused but I was happy with the pizza, and my friends loved their meaty delights.

Came in as a solo diner, a little apprehensive as its not my norm to eat alone in a nice restaurant especially on a Friday night. The atmosphere was inviting (darkened with romantic lighting and good background music) and the staff made me feel welcome. I opted for a seat at the bar and got my drink straight away (spicy margarita - a little kick but it made it so much better). The menu was super enticing making my mouth water with every item. I ordered the margarita pizza with pepperoni with some hot honey to top it off along with an oyster (so delicious I ordered a second). I almost ordered dessert too but I was full enough from the food already devoured. Thank you for the delicious food, drink and inviting atmosphere!

I was really surpised by Bar Rosa, I have heard lots of mixed reviews from friends, but we had some of the best Beef Carpaccio I have had before, and a really good Black Bechemel pizza, the Crudo was definitely the weakesst of the dishes we had, but over all a great meal and some good Eddyline beers

Food, service and atmosphere were all exceptional. The wood fired bread, the spring lamb fazzoletti and the butternut gnocchi were so good! We will definitely be back.
