Poland's first Radisson RED, built where Szkieletor finally fell

For four decades, an unfinished concrete skeleton called Szkieletor loomed over Krakow like a local myth. Now Unity Centre stands in its place, and the tower's base is Poland's first Radisson RED: 230 rooms and apartments at Rondo Mogilskie.

Forget the marble lobby. Horizone Studio built it, VA.VER Studio dressed the interiors, and the brand runs on music, street art and mixology. It's in Grzegórzki, the business district, five minutes from the tram loop at the roundabout, not the Old Town crowds.

Good to know

• Half the complex is serviced apartments with kitchens, useful for longer stays.
• The Old Town is a 15-minute walk; the Rondo Mogilskie transit hub outside the door covers everything else.
