Rwanda's first all-vegan fine-dining room, in Kacyiru

No meat, no dairy, no compromise on the plating. SZY is the first fine-dining restaurant in Rwanda to run an entirely vegan menu, and it shows in how far the kitchen pushes each course.

The eccentric-lounge styling sets it apart from the classic tasting-menu rooms that have opened nearby in Kacyiru and Kimihurura. A run of invite-only soft openings had Kigali's food crowd talking before the doors even opened.

What a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely delicious, the owner and staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, and you can truly feel the passion behind everything they do. Their motto, “From the soil to soul,” perfectly captures the heart of this place. Whether you’re vegan or not, SZY is a place I’d happily recommend to anyone visiting Kigali.

Absolutely loved this place! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Even as someone who isn’t vegan, I was genuinely impressed by how delicious every dish was. The drinks were equally amazing refreshing, well balanced, and the perfect complement to the meal. The atmosphere and service made the experience even better. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone and I’ll certainly be coming back!

I will definitely go back to enjoy some great food. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. Go try them out and the food is delicious 😋🤤. They have a VIP lounge upstairs and a full bar.
