Live music, lake views, and its own boat rides on the Nyamyumba shore

Amaliza sits a few kilometers south of central Gisenyi, on the Nyamyumba stretch of shoreline that's turned into a second beach scene away from the Avenue de la Production strip. The menu mixes Rwandan dishes with international plates. Doors open at 10am and stay open until 11pm, so it works for a long lunch or a full night out.

The boat access is what sets it apart. Amaliza runs its own Lake Kivu rides straight off its stretch of shore, instead of sending guests to a separate tour operator like most restaurants here do. Live music plays most evenings, and the outdoor seating along the water is why locals treat it as the default hangout, not just another restaurant.

Good to know

• Ask at the bar about the boat rides. They run direct from the lounge's own stretch of shore.
• Open daily 10am to 11pm, so it works for a long lazy lunch as much as an evening out.

  I just Loved everything about Amalia,,well located along the shores of lake Kivu ,we had boat rides and enjoyed cool afrobeat music all the very best to Chef Ronnie and the team well I'll definitely come back one day to the Manager Patrick keep the good ambience bro👍🔥🔥🔥
