Generous, affordable Senegalese lunch plates on the hospital road

Reviews mention generous portions more than presentation, home cooking scaled up rather than a restaurant chasing a look. Ely has spent years cooking simple, affordable Senegalese plates on Mbour's hospital road. People come back as much for the terrace as for the food.

It's become a default lunch stop for anyone working that stretch of road, priced for a daily habit rather than a special occasion. The terrace stays shaded, and nobody's in a hurry to turn the table.

Chez Ely quickly became our favorite lunch spot; all the dishes are generous and delicious, and Ely is always so welcoming. Highly recommended for children and adults alike!

Excellent food and good service. The fish was fresh and the vegetables were very tasty. Ely is friendly and professional. The only downside: the cats around.

At Ely's, you feel right at home. We've been coming here for years, and returning is always a real joy. Ely does everything herself, with a smile, kindness, and incredible energy. She's lovely, always in a good mood, and her welcome is simply perfect. Her cooking, whether fish or meat, is always fresh, generous, and delicious. The prices are very reasonable. A precious find, run by a truly wonderful person, where you return with a light heart. ✨

We were staying at the Tama lodge and wanted have dinner in the area. We initially couldn't find it, as it has since changed its decor. But Chef Ely is confirmed this was the spot. She is absolutely lovely and her food matched. Lovely home made food and reasonable price. Don't be put of at the fact it may not be super busy, you'll be happy with your food. We ordered grilled fish, prawns with ginger and rice. The steak was incredible!! So tender
