Gecko Bar sits right on the beach at Coral Strand Smart Choice Hotel, one of several beachfront bars along this stretch of Beau Vallon. The menu covers infused rums, tropical smoothies and signature cocktails, served under a large tented lounge added in a recent renovation.

It draws enough outside visitors that the hotel asks for reservations even for casual drinks. Regulars call it one of the better sunset spots on this side of the beach.

I would like to recognize and thank Mi, our waitress at Gecko Bar, Savoy Resort & Spa Seychelles, for the outstanding service she provided during our Women's Day celebration on March 8, 2026. From the beginning of our visit, Mi was warm, attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. She ensured that our orders were taken efficiently, regularly checked on our table, and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our experience. Her friendly personality, positive attitude, and excellent customer service greatly contributed to making our Women's Day celebration even more enjoyable and memorable. It is always a pleasure to be served by staff who genuinely care about their guests, and Mi certainly exemplifies this level of hospitality. She is a wonderful representative of the Savoy team and deserves recognition for her dedication and hard work. Thank you, Mi, for making our visit such a pleasant experience.

As we were staying at Savoy Resort, we stopped by Gecko — one of the resort’s restaurant-bars — for a couple of drinks, and had a pleasant experience. The location is definitely one of its highlights. Sitting by the ocean while enjoying your favourite drink makes for a really relaxing atmosphere with beautiful views. The food menu, however, felt a bit limited in terms of variety and options, and the prices were on the higher side. That said, the staff were courteous and provided good service throughout our visit.

Good food with chilling atmosphere and an ocean view Big menu: you can find mainly good European food but also there are Mexican dishes which are very cool. There are also small sets (meat and seafood lovers) available for dinner. Chicken wings are not good (btw it’s the only thing which makes us disappointed), red snapper, tacos and wraps are awesome. Excellent coffee and good cocktails - we’re pina colada lovers, here you can find three different positions of it but classic one is the best:). Friendly and smiley staff.
