Hand-embroidered dresses, one-offs only

A Dutch designer hand-embroiders every dress, bag and bikini here in premium cotton yarn, and most pieces on the rail exist only once. What started as a pop-up on Calle de la Virgen stuck around and turned into her first proper shop.

She's since made room for a few other small labels on the same rails, which fits right into a street that's run this way for six decades: single-room shops, owners behind their own counters. Come for the embroidery, stay for the street.

Good to know

• Calle de la Virgen shops keep late summer hours, many stay open past midnight in August.
• The shop also stocks a handful of other small island labels alongside Laura's own.
