Dambulla's newest homegrown coffee brand, air-conditioned and open late

Cave-temple crowds and Sigiriya day-trippers mostly grab a bite and move on. Cafe De Skylark is built for the opposite: a cool, air-conditioned room on Kurunegala Road made for sitting down with a coffee and staying a while.

Designer Hasitha Ekanayaka gave it a fast-casual look, a real contrast to the open-air canteens most of Dambulla's older restaurants run. The menu covers espresso drinks and handcrafted beverages with an international twist, plus food, open 7am to 10pm daily.

Good to know

It's air-conditioned, which matters after a hot afternoon at the caves; few Dambulla cafes bother.
Try the iced caramel macchiato; it's the most-photographed drink on their own social feed for a reason.

Excellent coffee way better than StarBucks. Pastries are ok but I came here for the coffee and I got a great cup. Stick it to the big corporate tax dodgers and support a local business. Includes WIFI and AC so a good spot for work or sorting out travel arrangements in a calm comfortable place.

The staff here is amazingly sweet! We ordered a latte and an americano, and both were super delicious. The place itself has a beautiful design as well. Thank you for everything, we can’t wait to come back!

Located in the town, this was an amazing cozy cafe. They were kind enough to let us to keep our bags until we got back from the Cave temple. The staff was nice and helpful. The beverages and ice creams were great too. They have ample of space to sit and read a book or even work (we saw one guy working on his laptop)

Had a wonderful experience at Cafe de Skylar....! The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and beautifully designed, making it a perfect spot to relax, catch up with friends, or enjoy some quiet time. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the overall vibe of the cafe is very inviting. The drinks were well prepared and enjoyable.. Definitely a great cafe to visit if you are looking for good coffee and a pleasant environment. Looking forward to coming back...

Absolutely Loved It! Visited Cafe De Skylark recently and had a fantastic experience! The ambiance is incredibly cozy and beautifully designed with wooden aesthetics, creating a perfect vibe to relax or hang out. We tried their wraps served with crispy fries, and they were delicious, fresh, and well-portioned. The drinks were highly refreshing, especially the iced chocolate/frappe and the lime mocktail. To top it off, the muffin was soft and flavorful. Great food, lovely presentation, and a wonderful atmosphere. Definitely a spot I’d highly recommend and visit again! 💯✨
