A glass wall folds back and the whole bar opens to the street

Settle Down took an old shophouse on Zhonghua Road and turned it into a two floor taproom near the Cultural and Creative Industries Park. Craft beer is the point, cocktails a smaller side act, and on nice evenings the ground floor's glass wall folds back almost completely.

Grab banquette seating up front, the bar counter, or the upstairs loft if you want a quieter corner. Weekends get busy enough that walk ins sometimes wait for a table.

Love the vibe and feel of the place. Great selections of local beers on tap, and they have cool choices in the fridge (like One Drop). Huge place - more of a speakeasy. When you go to the toilet upstairs, you’ll find a much bigger space to chill!

Wonderful bar, one of my new favourites. Great beers on tap, very cool interior, dog friendly and amazing atmosphere. Most importantly the people here were super kind and very cool whether it be the regulars or the staff. I got a very independently-owned and community-oriented vibe from this place yet they were all happy to see and welcome someone from out of town. I will certainly be returning to Hualien for a few reasons, and this place is one of them.

Very beautiful bar, nice craft beers and the staff was super friendly. Would definetly recommend going here. I came two times when I was in Hualien.
