Five rooms in a late-Ottoman mansion by the Roman bridge
Sleeping inside historic Adana usually means a boulevard hotel. This restored late-Ottoman mansion, reopened by the municipality in August 2024, is the cheaper and stranger option: five rooms, eight beds, a courtyard, a terrace and a café, a few steps from the Taşköprü stone bridge over the Seyhan.
It was built for visiting public-sector staff, but anyone can book it. Summer nights get louder than the room count suggests, since the municipality runs workshops and open-air film screenings in the courtyard.
Good to know
- Only five rooms and eight beds, book well ahead, by phone or Instagram DM.
- The courtyard café is open to walk-ins from 09:00 to 22:00 even if you are not staying.
- The Ulu Camii complex and the old covered market are a five-minute walk from the door.

It takes them 40 minutes to put a slice of cake on a plate and bring it to us. They don't even bother to take the order. The staff don't know the items on the menu; they might bring cheesecake instead of cake, or latte instead of americano, but it's still a nice place.

The staff were friendly, I sat in the outdoor area and it was very quiet and peaceful. Turkish coffee was 85 TL, desserts were in the 150-170 TL range. There was no disturbing music, ideal for relaxing and chatting. However, there should have been something like water, sherbet, or Turkish delight served with the coffee; it's a tradition after all. 85 TL shouldn't just be for a Turkish coffee.

We came as a family group from Izmir, and despite our late arrival, we were greeted so warmly... we were amazed by the building, the architecture, the decoration, the historical texture, and every detail they used... each room was prepared with meticulous care, the heating and cleanliness were excellent. The morning coffee service was incredibly good... excellent value for money, I definitely recommend it...

Staying in a historic building restored by the Adana Municipality in the historical center of Adana was a delight. I stayed in a Varda room. Everything was spotlessly clean. Looking out the window, it was wonderful to see the Turkish bath, the clock tower, and many other historic buildings. The staff were very attentive and friendly. I definitely recommend it. I won't stay anywhere else when I come to Adana again.
