Mesopotamian cooking in Çukurambar, named for a Roman-era fortress
Skip the usual meyhane or kebap menu. Zerzevan pulls from a wider Mesopotamian repertoire instead, from İspir kuru (Erzurum-style dried beef) to Maraş-style tava, named after the Roman-era fortress near Diyarbakır.
Display cases and archaeological references are built into the dining room rather than added as decor. It's an odd fit for this stretch of Çukurambar, which otherwise runs on glass office towers and chain restaurants.
Good to know
- Order the İspir kuru if it's on the day's menu, it's the dish the kitchen is known for.

This is a fabulous restaurant in Cukurambar, Ankara, Türkiye. The atmosphere is amazing. We had a “serpme” (breakfast with many dishes (see photos)). The items were well prepared and presented. You can find items from Hatay. Overall perfect.
