ONDO sits on the quiet streets of Karaağaç, the leafy district near the river and the former railway station, and it's built for a sweet tooth. Ice cream shares the counter with Edirne's famous almond-based sweets and other regional treats.

We came as a family and overall it was a successful experience. The lotus dessert was good, the supangile (a type of Turkish dessert) was average, but the cheesecake was a failure; the cake was hard and the jelly was frozen. Apart from the desserts, the Turkish coffee was good but a bit strong. Putting those aside, in terms of atmosphere, it's one of the few places worth going to in Edirne. The staff were very tidy (they just didn't know the Wi-Fi password), the place was very well-maintained and clean. Also, because it's located a bit far from the city center, not everyone can come and occupy it; it has a specific customer base. I think it offers a better experience than other branches of the Ondo brand. Finally, I can say that it's good value for money compared to the customer experience.

When I came to my hometown Edirne for the holiday and saw that there was such a place, I bragged to my friends who came with me. The liver at Ciğerci Niyazi Usta was the most delicious dessert I've ever had. A huge thank you to the chef (who doesn't have a hair in his hair) and to everyone who took care of us… and especially to our waiter Atakan, who never failed to show interest in our table and told us about the history of Edirne. You're amazing…
