A 350-capacity bar and hotel on Belfast's old punk ground
The bar and restaurant here holds 350 people, and twenty boutique hotel rooms sit upstairs for anyone who doesn't want the night to end. Between 1978 and 1982 this Hill Street building was the original Harp Bar, a key spot in Belfast's punk scene, and the new version nods to that past without turning it into a theme bar.
Breakfast runs early and the bar runs late, so it covers more of the day than most Cathedral Quarter spots. The hotel rooms also pull an overnight crowd the bars next door never see.

I was walking through the Cathedral Quarter and ended up at The Foundry because the music caught my ear from the street. Coming from New York, it was great to find a spot playing hip hop and pop—it felt much more like the energy back home compared to some of the traditional pubs nearby. The space is located right across from the Yardbird and the Thirsty Goat, and even though I only stayed for a beer and an hour of music, the vibe was on point. The DJ was talented, the staff were efficient, and it’s clearly a prime spot for a more modern, high-energy night out in Belfast. Whether you're there for a drink or just the music, it's a solid choice if you want a break from the standard local scene."

Stumbled across the venue while looking for somewhere to eat. Really friendly doormen and waitress shown us the menu and we decided to come in. I had the Sunday roast, and my partner had the risotto. The food was incredible, amazing portion sizes and tasted great. My girlfriend also loved her Maple and Cinnamon Sour.

We had breakfast here and it was delicious. A beautiful place that we hadn't noticed before. If the bar/restaurant area are anything to go by, this would be a lovely place to stay. The girl working was lovely, friendly and welcoming to everyone coming through the door.
