The legendary boliche of La Paloma's old summers, back from the dead
Ask any older palomense about the town's best summers and La Tuba comes up alongside Caravana and La Currica. It shut down years ago and sat abandoned, part of the roof gone, until Rivero took over and spent months patching it back together beside Hotel Cabo Santa María.
It only runs summer season, December through Carnaval, with doors open past 1am on weekends. The crowd skews younger now, more thirty-somethings than the retirees who made the original famous.

We had a great time, a ten out of ten. I forgot to pick up my bags at the cloakroom and they returned them to me the next day, impeccable.

Excellent, music for the over-30 crowd, great atmosphere, and very good service. Drink prices are reasonable.

Fond memories of La Tuba, and I'm talking about 1977 with the music of the Bee Gees, Eagles, Peter Flampton on a cold September day. It opened especially with DJ Barlocco Jr., and seeing it renewed and active is a joy. Best wishes for young people to have their own place.
